Gameplay Features and Mechanics
Kamen Rider: Memory of Heroez is an action-adventure game that lets you control one of six playable Kamen Riders: OOO, Double, Joker, Accel, Birth, or Zero-One. You can freely switch between them at any time outside of certain story restrictions. Each Kamen Rider has their own set of forms, attacks, skills, and finishing moves that you can use in combat. You can also customize your Kamen Riders with different gadgets, items, upgrades, and costumes.
Combat
The combat system in Kamen Rider: Memory of Heroez is based on a chain system that allows you to perform combos by mixing weak attacks, strong attacks, and unique attacks. You also have a Rider Power (RP) gauge that serves as your stamina. You can use RP to perform special actions such as dodging, changing forms, flying, or using support gadgets. However, if you run out of RP, you will have to wait for it to recharge or perform a counterattack to replenish it instantly.
You also have an EX gauge that fills up as you fight. You can use two bars of EX to execute a finishing technique that is unique to each form. You can also use three bars of EX to access your final form, which gives you unlimited RP and enhanced abilities for a limited time. However, once you use your final form's finishing attack or run out of time, you will revert to your base form and lose all your RP and EX. Therefore, you have to use your final form wisely and strategically.
Support Gadgets
In addition to your Kamen Rider abilities, you can also use various support gadgets to aid you in your missions. These include items such as the O Scanner, the Gaia Memory, the Zero-One Driver, and the Progrise Keys. You can equip up to four gadgets at a time and use them by pressing the directional buttons. Each gadget has a different function and effect, such as scanning enemies, changing forms, healing, boosting stats, or summoning allies. You can also upgrade your gadgets with materials that you collect throughout the game.
Game Modes
Kamen Rider: Memory of Heroez has several game modes that you can enjoy besides the main story mode. These include:
Free Mode: This mode allows you to replay any stage that you have cleared in the story mode with any Kamen Rider that you have unlocked. You can also adjust the difficulty level and the number of enemies.
Challenge Mode: This mode challenges you to complete various missions with specific conditions and objectives. You can earn rewards such as materials, costumes, and trophies by clearing these missions.
Online Mode: This mode allows you to play online with other players in co-op or versus modes. You can team up with up to three other players to clear stages together or compete against each other in battles.
Story and Characters
Kamen Rider: Memory of Heroez has an original story that is set in a futuristic island called Sector City. The island is divided into four sectors: Sector A, Sector B, Sector C, and Sector D. Each sector has its own theme and environment, such as a cityscape, a forest, a desert, and a snowfield. Synopsis
The game begins with Kamen Rider Double arriving at Sector City to investigate a series of strange incidents involving Dopants, creatures that are created by using Gaia Memories. He meets with his partner Philip, who is also his alter ego when he transforms into Double. Together, they try to find out who is behind the Dopant attacks and what their motive is.
Meanwhile, Kamen Rider OOO is also on the island, looking for his lost partner Ankh, who is a Greeed, a being that is made of Cell Medals. He encounters Kamen Rider Birth, who is working for the Kougami Foundation, an organization that is interested in the Cell Medals and the Greeeds. They decide to cooperate with each other to find Ankh and stop the Greeeds from causing havoc on the island.
At the same time, Kamen Rider Zero-One is sent to Sector City by his boss Aruto Hiden, who is the president of Hiden Intelligence, a company that produces Humagears, androids that are designed to help humans. He is accompanied by Izu, his secretary Humagear, and Fuwa Isamu, a former member of A.I.M.S., an anti-Humagear military force. They are tasked with investigating a mysterious signal that is coming from the island and affecting the Humagears.
The three Kamen Riders eventually cross paths with each other and realize that they are all connected by a common enemy: a mysterious organization called BADAN, which stands for Brotherhood Against Destruction And Neutralization. BADAN is led by a mysterious figure who calls himself The Generalissimo, who claims to be the ruler of Sector City and the mastermind behind all the incidents on the island. He also has an army of minions and monsters at his disposal, including Dopants, Greeeds, Humagears, and even other Kamen Riders.
The three Kamen Riders decide to join forces and stop BADAN from executing their evil plan. However, they soon discover that there is more to Sector City than meets the eye and that The Generalissimo has a hidden agenda that involves them and their memories.
Continuity and Placement
Kamen Rider: Memory of Heroez is not a direct sequel or prequel to any of the previous Kamen Rider series or movies. Instead, it is a standalone story that takes place in an alternate timeline where the events of Kamen Rider Double, OOO, and Zero-One have occurred differently or not at all. Therefore , the game does not follow the canon of the original series and does not affect their continuity. However, the game does feature some references and easter eggs to the original series and other Kamen Rider media, such as characters, locations, items, and events. The game also has some original elements that are exclusive to its own story, such as new forms, gadgets, villains, and allies.
The game is set in the year 2023, which is the same year as Kamen Rider Zero-One. However, the game does not take place in the same world as Kamen Rider Zero-One, but rather in a parallel world where Sector City exists. The game also does not follow the timeline of Kamen Rider Double and OOO, which are set in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Instead, the game assumes that the events of those series have happened recently or are still happening in 2023.

The game was intended to be a new and innovative experience for fans of the series, as well as a tribute to the previous Kamen Rider games.

The team wanted to create a game that would appeal to both casual and hardcore fans of the series, as well as newcomers who are not familiar with the series. They also wanted to create a game that would showcase the charm and personality of each Kamen Rider and their forms.
The game was designed to be an action-adventure game that would combine elements of exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving. The team chose to use the "Hero Chain Action" system, which would allow players to switch between different Kamen Riders and use their unique abilities in various situations. The team also created an original story that would involve a mystery on an island and a conflict between three Kamen Riders and a new enemy.
The team chose to focus on three Kamen Riders: Double, OOO, and Zero-One. They selected these three because they felt that they had a strong connection with the theme of memory, which is central to the game's story. They also felt that these three had a diverse and colorful range of forms and abilities that would make the gameplay more fun and varied. The team also included other Kamen Riders as playable characters or enemies, such as Joker, Accel, Birth, Eternal, Core, Genm, and Thouser.
The team consulted with the original creators and writers of the series, such as Riku Sanjo (Double), Yasuko Kobayashi (OOO), Yuya Takahashi (Zero-One), and Shotaro Ishinomori (the creator of Kamen Rider). They also hired some of the original actors to reprise their roles in the game, such as Renn Kiriyama (Shotaro), Masaki Suda (Philip), Shu Watanabe (OOO), Ryosuke Miura (Ankh), Fumihiko Tachiki (The Generalissimo), and others.
